Do I need a ticket for the Christmas market?
Visiting all four Christmas markets is free of charge. No admission ticket is required.

Are families and children welcome?
Yes! Our Christmas markets are suitable for visitors of all ages. Especially on the university campus, families can look forward to a varied program of activities, including attractions and rides for the little ones.
Is there a supporting program?
Yes. Especially at the Christmas Village on the university campus, a diverse entertainment program and great highlights await guests of all ages. There are also program highlights in store for you at Schwarzenbergplatz.
Are there any rides for children?
The university campus features amusement rides and a special offering for our youngest visitors. You can find information about the current program on the respective location page.
Can I bring my dog?
Dogs are allowed at the Christmas markets on Stephansplatz, Maria-Theresien-Platz, and Schwarzenbergplatz. Please make sure to keep your dog safe and under control at all times, and observe Vienna’s leash and muzzle requirements in public places. Dogs are not allowed in the Uni Campus Christmas Village.
Do the Christmas markets take place regardless of the weather?
Our Christmas markets generally take place even in wintry weather. Should exceptional weather conditions result in a change to our opening hours or a closure, we will post a timely notice on our website.
Are the Christmas markets accessible to people with disabilities?
Our Christmas markets are located in central areas of Vienna and are generally open to the public.
Are there (accessible) restrooms?
Yes, there are restroom facilities at all four Christmas market locations, and they are all wheelchair-accessible.
How can I get to the Christmas markets?
All four Christmas markets are centrally located in Vienna and are easily accessible by public transportation. If you’re traveling by car, we recommend using one of the nearby public parking garages. You can find the address for Google Maps navigation on the page for each Christmas market.
Are food and drinks available on site?
Yes! At our Christmas markets, you'll find a wide variety of culinary delights—from traditional Austrian specialties and classic Advent treats to a variety of drinks and warming punch options.
What payment methods are accepted?
Payment options may vary depending on the vendor. We therefore recommend that, in addition to a debit or credit card—which is accepted at all market stalls—you also bring cash just in case.
What can I buy at the Christmas markets?
Our Christmas markets offer a wide variety of arts and crafts, Christmas decorations, gift ideas, and unique products. The selection varies by location.
Is there such a thing as regional arts and crafts?
Yes. In addition to culinary offerings, you'll find numerous booths at our Christmas markets featuring arts and crafts, handmade products, and unique gift ideas.
Are the punch cups (Red Boots) available for purchase?
A €5 deposit is charged for each cup of punch or hot beverage. You are free to keep the cup as a souvenir instead of returning it. These popular collectibles can also be purchased directly (empty) at select huts.
